{"id":62088,"date":"2026-07-28T14:18:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T14:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/62088\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T14:18:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T14:18:20","slug":"barcelona-coming-to-bucksport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/62088\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona coming to Bucksport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">BUCKSPORT, Maine (WABI) &#8211; On Wednesday, August 5th at 5:30 p.m., the band Barcelona led by Sam Lardner, will perform at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/alamotheatre\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/alamotheatre\/\">Alamo Theater in Bucksport.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The concert is raising money for the Bucksport Animal Shelter\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/992131832753982\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/992131832753982\/\">Shed to Shelter <\/a>fund. The current animal shelter is 50 YEARS OLD.\u00a0 It works with 12 communities to accept animals in need, and their spaces are always full.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The concert is being sponsored by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bucksportmaine.gov\/community\/wednesday_on_main.php\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.bucksportmaine.gov\/community\/wednesday_on_main.php\">Wednesday on Main.<\/a> Paula Kee with WOM was on the WABI Morning Show Tuesday along with Bucksport\u2019s Community and Economic Development Director, Rich Rotella. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Kee says one of their most popular performers in the WOM series is the band Barcelona. She notes Lardner has family ties to the Blue Hill penninusula.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lardner is performing all over Maine this year through his nonprofit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varroomba.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.varroomba.org\/\">Varroomba<\/a> and at each stop, he will donate the proceeds of the concert to a non-profit organization of the community\u2019s choice. Bucksport\u2019s choice is the new Animal Shelter.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/wednesday-on-main-presents-sam-lardner-barcelona-tickets-1989095637597\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/wednesday-on-main-presents-sam-lardner-barcelona-tickets-1989095637597\">Evenbrite.<\/a> Additional donation spots will be avilable at the theater the night of the performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"> The\u00a0 projected cost of a new shelter building is about $600,000, and so far Rich Rotella says about $50,000.has been raised.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WABI.
