{"id":62158,"date":"2026-07-28T16:27:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T16:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/62158\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T16:27:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T16:27:08","slug":"barcelona-consider-20-year-old-premier-league-forward-not-worth-e100-million-price-tag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/62158\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona consider 20-year-old Premier League forward not worth \u20ac100 million price tag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even as FC Barcelona continue their pursuit of Julian Alvarez without a breakthrough, several other forwards have been linked with the club as potential long-term successors to Robert Lewandowski. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the stalemate between the Catalans and Atletico Madrid over the Argentine showing no signs of changing, the former have begun exploring alternatives in the market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the latest names to emerge as an option is Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 20-year-old French forward is highly regarded within Barcelona, who have monitored his progress throughout the past season alongside several other leading young attackers across Europe. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, despite recognising his quality, the club do not consider a move financially viable, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundodeportivo.com\/futbol\/fc-barcelona\/20260728\/1004211000\/eli-junior-kroupi-inviable-barca-precio.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Mundo Deportivo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bournemouth\u2019s asking price seen as excessive<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/bournemouth-v-manchester-city-premier-league-2-1024x720.jpg\" alt=\"Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth\" class=\"wp-image-207205\"  \/>Barcelona like Eli Junior Kroupi. (Photo by Eddie Keogh\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barcelona have no intention of meeting Bournemouth\u2019s valuation of around \u20ac100 million for Kroupi, which the Premier League club is said to regard as the starting point for any negotiations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That figure is the same amount Bar\u00e7a offered Atletico Madrid for Alvarez, including add-ons. Within the club, however, there is a clear distinction between the two players.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kroupi impressed during the 2025-26 campaign after joining Bournemouth from Lorient. Playing under manager Andoni Iraola, the French striker scored 13 Premier League goals and established himself as one of the league\u2019s emerging attacking talents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite his impressive club form, he has yet to make his senior debut for the French national team.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/wolverhampton-wanderers-v-bournemouth-premier-league-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth\" class=\"wp-image-207204\"  \/>Kroupi valued at \u20ac100 million.
