Passports with extended validity issued before 2018 may be rejected if they are past their 10th anniversary. Passports must remain valid for at least three months after your planned departure date from the Schengen Area and obviously, prepare for enhanced border checks and potential delays as the EU implements the biometric Entry\/Exit System requiring fingerprinting and facial photographs.<\/p>\n<p>A passport can still appear valid, but if it was issued more than 10 years before the date you enter the Schengen area, you could be refused boarding or entry.
