The show is aired on Thursday evenings, commencing at 23:00 CEST on La 1. As part of its final episode of the series, the show will feature the reveal of the Spanish representative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RTVE has opted to internally select its singer for the competition, having done so annually since it returned to the competition in 2019. The broadcaster has not held a televised national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2006.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gonzalo Pinillos represented Spain at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with \u201c\u00c9rase Una Vez (Once Upon a Time)\u201d. He placed 5th in the final, scoring 152 points, including 12 points from the Portuguese jury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malta will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 on October 24 with the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre being the venue. This will be the third time that the country has hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, having done so in 2014 and 2016 previously. The competition will combine the UNESCO-recognised Maltese \u2018Festa\u2019 heritage into the show, with PBS inviting audiences to \u201cunite with us for a unique celebration where Mediterranean tradition and the future of music unite under one sky. In 2004, Mar\u00eda Isabel brought Spain their only victory so far with \u201cAntes muerta que sencilla\u201d. After an absence of 13 years, Spain returned to the contest in 2019 with \u201cMarte\u201d by Melani Garc\u00eda. Spain had always finished in the top 5 until the 2021 contest, when Levi D\u00edaz finished in 15th place.
