{"id":63112,"date":"2026-07-30T14:08:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T14:08:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/63112\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T14:08:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T14:08:15","slug":"barcelona-ready-to-respond-to-atletico-madrid-complaint-over-julian-alvarez-pursuit-as-rfef-open-proceedings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/63112\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona ready to respond to Atletico Madrid complaint over Julian Alvarez pursuit as RFEF open proceedings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport.es\/es\/noticias\/barca\/barca-recibe-denuncia-atletico-caso-132954344\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">SPORT<\/a>, FC Barcelona have officially been notified of the complaint filed by Atletico Madrid over the club\u2019s pursuit of Julian Alvarez. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has opened disciplinary proceedings into the matter and given the Catalan club a deadline to submit their response.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The complaint centres on allegations that the Blaugrana held discussions with the Argentine striker while he remains under contract at Atl\u00e9tico until 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Barcelona preparing their defence<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The notification from the RFEF informs Barcelona that a formal case has been opened and grants the club several days to present its arguments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barcelona\u2019s legal team is already reviewing <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/just-in-atletico-madrid-file-complaint-against-barcelona-with-fifa-rfef-over-julian-alvarez-pursuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Atletico\u2019s complaint<\/a> and intends to submit a full response defending the club\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/atletico-madrid-v-arsenal-fc-uefa-europa-league-semi-final-second-leg-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Atletico Madrid flag\" class=\"wp-image-201015\"  \/>Atletico Madrid filed a complaint against Bar\u00e7a with RFEF and FIFA. (Photo by Catherine Ivill\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside the club, there is confidence that the case is unlikely to lead to significant consequences.<\/p>\n<p>Bar\u00e7a believe they did nothing wrong<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senior figures at Barcelona believe Atletico\u2019s complaint lacks substance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The club\u2019s position is that \u00c1lvarez himself publicly expressed his desire to leave the Spanish capital club and fulfil what he described as his dream of playing for Barcelona. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after those comments, the Blaugrana formally submitted an offer worth around \u20ac100 million for the striker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the club\u2019s perspective, those events demonstrate that their approach was conducted openly rather than through improper negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Julian remains the priority<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the legal dispute, Barcelona\u2019s sporting plans remain unchanged. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1784639531_528_spain-v-argentina-final-fifa-world-cup-2026-15-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Julian Alvarez of Argentina\" class=\"wp-image-206364\"  \/>Alvarez remains the priority.
