Paris Saint-Germain has sent a warning to Ferran Torres amid him possibly renewing with FC Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Back-to-back Champions League holder Paris Saint-Germain has warned FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres<\/a> that it will improve any contract renewal offer tabled to him by the Catalans according to SPORT<\/a>, which cited anonymous sources.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Qatar-backed Ligue 1 giant reportedly remains sure that it will be able to convince the 26-year-old to switch allegiances, as we\u2019ve seen with so many former Blaugrana stars in recent years.<\/p>\n

Before the World Cup, we saw claims of Torres being in “advanced talks”<\/a> to join his former Spain boss, and ex-father-in-law so to speak, in Luis Enrique at the Parc des Princes.<\/p>\n

Though Neymar\u2019s 2017 world record transfer to PSG is the big one, Luis Enrique<\/a>\u2019s tenure has seen Ousmane Dembele and Dro Fernandez flee Catalonia to don similar yet different colors. Furthermore, there have also been approaches for teenager wonderboy Lamine Yamal knocked by by Barcelona president Joan Laporta.<\/p>\n

The Ferran reports came as a surprise. Yet with AC Milan smashing its own transfer record to take Goncalo Ramos, Luis Enrique needs another forward.<\/p>\n

Paris Saint-Germain is prepared to do whatever it takes to relieve FC Barcelona of Ferran<\/p>\n

PSG sporting director Luis Campos will now look towards landing Ferran in an operation his club believes is on track.<\/p>\n

At Barcelona, though, they want to renew Ferran on a deal that expires on June 30, 2027 and which was signed when he joined from Manchester City for a $63.5 million (\u20ac55 million) fee in late 2021.<\/p>\n

Ferran currently earns $11.5 million (\u20ac10 million) a year according to Fichajes.<\/a> After scoring Spain\u2019s winning goal in the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina, his stock has risen meaning Bar\u00e7a will likely have to improve that figure to get him to renew.<\/p>\n

The fact that Barcelona will owe Manchester City a further $8-9.2 million (\u20ac7-8 million) if Ferran extends is a separate matter. <\/p>\n

But with their endless cash reserves, PSG has reportedly warned Ferran that they can improve any offer put on the table to his team by Bar\u00e7a in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

With failed pursuits of Julian Alvarez<\/a> and Junior Kroupi at the Spotify Camp Nou, however, Ferran\u2019s plight there has changed.<\/p>\n

Following Robert Lewandowski\u2019s departure, he knows that there\u2019s no competition for the number 9 shirt perhaps other than youngster Hamza Abdelkarim – who scored two<\/a> against Birmingham on Friday while Ferran holidayed – and possibly Dani Olmo acting as a \u201cfalse\u201d operator in that role.<\/p>\n

Post-match at St. Andrew\u2019s, Flick said<\/a> that Ferran is \u201cimportant for us\u201d while also shedding a little light on a conversation of theirs during the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Still, as we\u2019ve already witnessed when luring Dembele and Dro, former FC Barcelona boss Luis Enrique\u2019s powers of persuasion are a force to be reckoned alongside the kind of money that PSG can pull out of its pocket.
