Real Madrid’s talks involving a possible purchase of highly-rated RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande have taken a turn at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Real Madrid\u2019s negotiations with RB Leipzig regarding a possible transfer of the latter\u2019s highly-rated player Yan Diomande have reached a stalemate according to Sky Sports Germany and SPORT<\/a>, which cited anonymous sources.<\/p>\n

Los Blancos President Florentino Perez reportedly hoped to get the deal over the line this weekend.<\/p>\n

Over the past 24 hours, however, there has been little to no progress between the Spanish and German clubs.<\/p>\n

Diomande didn\u2019t participate in a friendly match against SC Verl because of illness. That same reason has prevented him travelling to a first team camp in Austria, as opposed to him being on the brink of joining Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

Yet Diomande is intent on becoming Madrid\u2019s latest summer signing amid the arrivals of Ibrahima Konate<\/a>, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Espi.<\/p>\n

Diomande\u2019s final price is a sticking point between Real Madrid and Leipzig<\/p>\n

Talks between the two parties have reached a standstill because of a disagreement on what the 19-year-old Ivory Coast and World Cup star is worth.<\/p>\n

Leipzig remains adamant that the La Liga giant is worth a fixed $138.5 million (\u20ac120 million) before getting onto variables. As for Madrid, they have already had a $115 million (\u20ac100 million) bid for the youngster knocked back and must improve that to get their man.<\/p>\n

That being said, SPORT explains that Real Madrid are optimistic about getting a deal over the line after agreeing personal terms with the player. PSG<\/a> have also left the negotiation table, meaning that the 15-time Champions League winner has a clean run at Diomande. <\/p>\n

Even though there\u2019s been a standstill, neither side believes that the talks have broken down. Real Madrid feel that a deal can be reached in the next few hours on Saturday, while Diomande himself wants to join Jose Mourinho<\/a>\u2019s first team as soon as possible with the La Liga campaign starting for it against Espanyol on August 22.<\/p>\n

One thing that\u2019s pretty much for certain is that delivering Diomande to the Portuguese will end Real Madrid\u2019s pursuit of Michael Olise<\/a>.
