FC Barcelona is “very attentive” to the future of Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri<\/a> according to Cadena SER and SPORT<\/a>, citing anonymous sources. <\/p>\n Radio Catalunya has already reported how Bar\u00e7a asked City about Rodri<\/a>, who has become a top target for eternal rival Real Madrid.<\/p>\n At the turn of the week, however, another radio station in Cadena SER explains that the Catalans remain \u201cvery attentive\u201d to negotiations between the Premier League outfit and Madrid.<\/p>\n If those break down, Bar\u00e7a could be prepared to make a move for the 30-year-old expected to challenge Spain teammate Lamine Yamal<\/a> for the Ballon d\u2019Or in Paris later this year.<\/p>\n Cadena SER\u2019s Nil Sola says Bar\u00e7a is convinced that the operation could be a go, with Rodri considered a \u201ctop\u201d player in his position.<\/p>\n In order for the move to materialize, however, Rodri must also show that he\u2019s willing to don Blaugrana. <\/p>\n With Frenkie de Jong<\/a> injured for anything between three and six months, we\u2019ve already seen reports that Bar\u00e7a are looking to sign another midfielder.<\/p>\n Morocco and Girona star Azzedine Ounahi was put forward<\/a> as one possible name, though he\u2019d be more attacking while capable of playing on either wing. <\/p>\n Rodri is a different beast entirely as arguably the best defensive midfielder in the world.
