RTVE has announced that just under 900 songs were submitted between April 6 and July 30 to participate in Benidorm Fest 2027.<\/p>\n

RTVE\u2019s selection process for\u00a0Benidorm Fest 2027\u00a0concluded last Thursday. A total of nearly 900 songs were received during the 115-day submission period. 350 of them arrived in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Following the close of submissions, the 16 best entries will be selected. The number of competing songs could be expanded to 20 under the Benidorm Fest 2027 rules if the entries demonstrate an exceptionally high standard of musical quality. Additionally, the broadcaster reserves the right to directly invite prestigious, well-known artists and songwriters from the current music scene.<\/p>\n

RTVE brought forward the opening of song submissions for the festival\u2019s sixth edition for the first time in its history. The goal is to continue improving the overall organization of the selection process and the subsequent preparation work with the chosen entries.<\/p>\n

Tony Grox and Lucycalys won the previous edition with the song \u201cT amar\u00e9\u201d, written by Antonio Ram\u00edrez Bernal and Carlos Prieto Cornejo.<\/p>\n

RTVE has currently not stated whether the broadcaster intends to return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. Benidorm Fest served as the Spanish selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest between 2022 and 2025, and was held separately to Eurovision in 2026 after RTVE withdrew from the contest in protest at Israel\u2019s continued participation, <\/p>\n
