The event proved decisive in boosting figures and shifting the competitive balance among the country\u2019s broadcasters, according to audiovisual consulting firm\u00a0Barlovento\u00a0Comunicaci\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rival\u00a0Atresmedia\u2019s\u00a0flagship Antena 3 slipped to second on 11.4%, while Mediaset Espa\u00f1a\u2019s Telecinco continued its slide to a record low of 7.1%. Cuatro strengthened to 5.8%, ahead of La Sexta on 4.9%. The surge also lifted RTVE to the top of the overall broadcaster rankings, overtaking both\u00a0Atresmedia\u00a0and Mediaset Espa\u00f1a.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In an age when streaming fragments audiences and pulls viewers in a hundred directions, premium live sport\u00a0remains\u00a0something that still gathers a nation in front of a single channel at a single moment. A home team winning the World Cup is about as powerful as that gets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Among Spain\u2019s thematic DTT channels, Mediaset\u2019s FDF led with 2.4%, followed by Energy on 2.2%, Be Mad on 2.1%, and\u00a0Atreseries\u00a0and Divinity both on 2.0%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For RTVE,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a reminder of the enduring value of its role.
