FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick<\/a> has called Rodri<\/a> on Thursday afternoon to explain his project to the Spain captain and try and convince him to join the Catalans from Manchester City. This has been reported by Carlos Montfort and SPORT<\/a>, citing anonymous sources.<\/p>\n

Those sources say that Flick personally called the midfielder, which has \u201ccompletely changed the landscape\u201d while reflecting real interest that the Blaugrana has in the World Cup winner.<\/p>\n

Rodri is now not ruling out signing for the back-to-back La Liga champions after previously seeming destined for the Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

As was reported earlier on Thursday, however, talks between City and Real Madrid have broken down<\/a> because they can\u2019t reach an agreement on the price of a potential transfer. Additionally, President Florentino Perez<\/a>\u2019s offer to the player hasn\u2019t convinced Rodri either.<\/p>\n

Rodri was previously reported as being priced at $86.5 million (\u20ac75 million) by the Mancunians. Madrid only wanted to offer $57.6 million (\u20ac50 million) initially, then possibly make the rest up of what the Premier League giant wants in variables.<\/p>\n

SPORT now says that Rodri\u2019s price tag is $75 million (\u20ac65 million), which is affordable for Bar\u00e7a. At COPE<\/a>, Victor Navarro explained that the 30-year-old has been offered to the club for $69 million (\u20ac60 million).<\/p>\n

His salary demands are another issue, however, and he\u2019s currently believed to earn $296,000 (\u00a3220,000) a week at the Etihad according to Goal.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Barcelona isn\u2019t going to go \u201ccrazy\u201d over Rodri<\/p>\n

This is something that SPORT has reported. Bar\u00e7a doesn\u2019t want to make \u201cnoise\u201d around a transfer that it considers complex to pull off, and Rodri also has to show that he wants to move to the Spotify Camp Nou. <\/p>\n

Sporting Director Deco has been in \u201cconstant contact\u201d with Rodri\u2019s entourage and a senior City official too, but Flick\u2019s call will have also helped to address any doubts that the former Ballon d\u2019Or holder might have. <\/p>\n

As for the FC Barcelona fanbase, it is divided on what should happen. One corner believes that midfield is already well accounted for while there\u2019s also Rodri\u2019s age and his injury history to consider.
