During our meeting, we comprehensively addressed our<br \/>\nbilateral commercial and economic relations with Spain, a strategic<br \/>\npartner, friend, and ally. We evaluated concrete steps to carry our<br \/>\nexisting economic partnership even further, agreeing to hold the<br \/>\n4th Term T\u00fcrkiye-Spain JETCO (Joint Economic and Trade Committee)<br \/>\nMeeting in Madrid this coming autumn, with strong participation<br \/>\nfrom the business communities of both nations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Noting that global and regional economic developments were<br \/>\nthoroughly reviewed during the talks, Minister Bolat emphasized<br \/>\nthat T\u00fcrkiye-EU economic relations formed a major topic on the<br \/>\nagenda.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In this framework, we shared our expectations regarding the<br \/>\nmodernization and more effective operation of the Customs Union,<br \/>\nwhich forms the foundation of our strong economic integration with<br \/>\nEU member states,&#8221; Bolat explained. &#8220;We exchanged views on public<br \/>\nprocurement as one of the priority areas that could elevate our<br \/>\neconomic cooperation to a higher level. Furthermore, we evaluated<br \/>\nrecently enacted EU trade, competition, and industrial<br \/>\npolicies\u2014most notably the Net Zero Industry Act (Industrial<br \/>\nAcceleration Act). We emphasized that shaping these policies with<br \/>\nan inclusive approach that encompasses T\u00fcrkiye will contribute<br \/>\nsignificantly to both the EU&#8217;s competitiveness and Europe&#8217;s broader<br \/>\neconomic security.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bolat added: &#8220;On the occasion of our meeting, we congratulated<br \/>\nSpain on its FIFA World Cup championship.
