A Jet2 flight made an emergency <\/a>detour to Manchester Airport after passengers felt ‘vibrations’ en route to its destination in Spain. The plane departed from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and was heading towards Palma de Mallorca Airport before declaring an emergency.<\/p>\n

On Thursday morning (August 6) real-time aviation alert service Squawk posted on X, the Boeing 737-800<\/a> is issuing a 7700 general emergency alert. The emergency signal was reportedly declared at 12,875 ft on its flight path near Manchester.<\/p>\n

According to the Flightradar24 website, the 8am flight changed direction as it flew near Shrewsbury before heading back towards Liverpool.<\/p>\n

A passenger, travelling to Palma for a long weekend with his wife, brother and sister-in-law, told ECHO<\/a> on the morning of the flight they had landed safely in Manchester.<\/p>\n

The passenger said: “As soon as the plane took off there was a sudden vibration and more noise, but nothing that alarmed passengers.<\/p>\n

“Around 15 minutes into the flight the captain said there was an issue. Everyone remained calm and the stewards were professional. The captain reassured everyone.<\/p>\n

“The plane landed safely at Manchester airport and we are expecting to get on another flight to resume our journey around 11.25am.”<\/p>\n

According to the passenger Jet2 has organised for another flight to continue their outward journey to Palma around 11.25am.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport confirmed the Jet2 aircraft has landed safely.<\/p>\n
