Barcelona<\/a> are extremely keen on signing Manchester City<\/a> and Spain midfielder Rodri this summer \u2013 but would they be able to afford his wages?<\/p>\n

Rodri, fresh from winning the World Cup, is widely expected to leave City this summer and Real Madrid had previously been favourites for his signature.<\/p>\n

But that trail has gone cold; Madrid have committed to giving Vinicius Junior a contract extension and Barcelona opened talks with the midfielder on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Rodri is in the final year of his City deal and currently earns \u20ac256,500 per week. This would make him the fifth-highest earner at Camp Nou \u2013 fourth if you exclude loaned out Marc-Andre ter Stegen.<\/p>\n

Of his potential midfield colleagues, Rodri already gets paid more than Frenkie de Jong and Pedri. You imagine this wouldn\u2019t change should he return to Spain.<\/p>\n
