Spending is expected to reach around €64 billion, up 10%, confirming that visitor spending is growing faster than arrivals and reinforcing the country’s appeal in an international environment marked by uncertainty.

Turespaña’s forecasts also point to greater territorial diversification. The regions traditionally less reliant on tourism are expected to see increases in spending of between 8% and 10%, above the growth forecast in Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencian region, the Balearic Islands and the Canaries, where the rise would be between 5% and 6%. The Government attributes this trend to the process of transforming the model and to policies to deconcentrate flows.

Source: Adobe Stock.

Exceltur has also improved its expectations for 2026 and raised tourism GDP growth to 2.7%, after a second quarter that grew by 3.4%. For the summer, companies expect to increase their sales by 3.2%, with a particular boost in transport, leisure and travel agencies. The strength of international and domestic demand, Spain’s image as a safe destination and the holding of major events underpin a scenario of reasonable optimism for the sector.

Spain is heading for a record tourist summer, with forecasts of receiving 43 million international visitors between June…

[2
11830,27221,17,18366
post-69344","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-spain","tag-destinations","tag-international-tourism","tag-spain","tag-tourist-spending
["GET
