Over the past year, the bank supported 160,000 families in accessing housing, backed one million SMEs and self-employed individuals, and financed more than 73,000 large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.com\/en\/enterprises\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">corporations<\/a>. BBVA also reached the highest net attributable profit in its history, \u20ac10.511 billion, while shareholders\u2019 equity has grown at an average annual rate of 16 percent over the past four years.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, Carlos Torres Vila highlights that this \u201cunprecedented value creation\u201d makes it possible to accelerate shareholder remuneration. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.com\/en\/economy-and-finance\/bbva-to-launch-share-buyback-program-of-nearly-e4-billion-the-largest-ever\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBVA will distribute more than \u20ac5.2 billion as an ordinary dividend<\/a>\u201450 percent of 2025 earnings\u2014and will submit to the AGM a proposal for a cash dividend of \u20ac0.92 per share, \u201cthe highest in our history.\u201d This is in addition to the execution of the nearly \u20ac4 billion extraordinary share buyback program announced in December. \u201cTaken together, more than \u20ac9.2 billion, reflecting our firm commitment to delivering an attractive remuneration to our shareholders. In addition, we currently have a significant capital surplus, above 12 percent, which will translate into higher distributions going forward,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>In the first year of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.com\/en\/economy-and-finance\/1600-bbva-employees-met-in-madrid-to-advance-the-banks-2025-2029-strategy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2025\u20132029 Strategic Plan<\/a>, BBVA added 11.5 million new customers and recorded particularly strong growth in corporate banking and sustainable business.
