{"id":70548,"date":"2026-08-14T15:24:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T15:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/70548\/"},"modified":"2026-08-14T15:24:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T15:24:17","slug":"barcelona-complete-e6-million-sale-of-academy-talent-to-dutch-giants-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/70548\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona complete \u20ac6 million sale of academy talent to Dutch giants &#8211; report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport.es\/es\/noticias\/barca\/cierra-jofre-torrents-barca-barcelona-venta-ajax-133356195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">SPORT<\/a>, FC Barcelona have completed the sale of Jofre Torrents to AFC Ajax for around \u20ac6 million, including fixed fees and variables, in exchange for 50% of the player\u2019s rights. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 19-year-old full-back will travel to Amsterdam in the coming hours to undergo his medical and sign his new contract, which will keep him at the Dutch club for the next four seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Agreement completed<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement between the two clubs was finalised on Thursday night, when the transfer documents were signed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Torrents, who joined La Masia in 2017 at just ten years old, will now bring his Barcelona career to an end after making four official first-team appearances, all of them last season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also featured in pre-season friendlies against CE Europa and Birmingham City this summer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Jofre-Torrents-1024x640.jpg\" alt=\"Jofre Torrents\" class=\"wp-image-176285\"  \/>Jofre Torrents on his way to Ajax. If permission arrives shortly, he could complete his medical and sign his contract immediately. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otherwise, he would travel on Sunday to watch his new teammates from the stands, before undergoing his medical on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ajax are due to host Heerenveen at 16:45 on Sunday in the second round of the Eredivisie.<\/p>\n<p>More academy departures expected<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Torrents, the move represents his first experience outside Spain.
