A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck southern Spain <\/a>early Saturday morning, with its epicenter in the province of Granada, where the tremor woke numerous residents and caused rockfalls and material damage to various buildings. The strong shaking was also felt in several provinces of Andalusia, causing moments of alarm among the population.<\/p>\n The earthquake occurred at 1:04 a.m. and had its epicenter approximately one kilometer southwest of the municipality of Otura, in the Granada metropolitan area.
