Barcelona sporting director Deco has offered a brief transfer update and says the club are working hard on bringing in a new attacker<\/a> after the departures of Robert Lewandowski<\/a> and Ferran Torres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Julian Alvarez<\/a> has been the club’s top target but seems certain to stay at Atletico Madrid<\/a>. Lautaro Martinez<\/a> is reportedly the next name on the list but Deco says replacing Lewandowsk is no easy task.<\/p>\n

“We had the departure of two players up front, Lewandowski and Ferran. Ferran, I think we can have solutions with the additions we have made. Robert’s is much more difficult, it’s very difficult to replace a player like him. We have internal solutions. We’re working on it,” he told TV3.<\/p>\n

“One of the good things we’ve achieved is that every player wants to play for Bar\u00e7a. You have to have a winning project. That’s what inspires them. They want to win titles and make history.”<\/p>\n

Deco also spoke about the signings Barcelona have made this summer, including Karim Adeyemi<\/a>, Anthony Gordon<\/a> and Rodri<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We’re happy with everyone. All the signings made sense. Before signing them, we thought about it a lot and discussed it internally. Rodri wasn’t in our plans because we didn’t think he’d be available. When he was, because of his DNA and everything else\u2026 He’s going to improve the team a lot,” he added.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t sign him to take him away from anyone. He’s a World Cup winner. Months ago we didn’t know he’d be available. We’re clear on what he can bring to the team.”<\/p>\n

Barcelona have until the transfer window closes on 1 September to try and find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
