{"id":73062,"date":"2026-08-20T08:29:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T08:29:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/73062\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T08:29:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T08:29:28","slug":"arsenal-player-offering-himself-to-barcelona-daily-just-before-start-of-premier-league-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/73062\/","title":{"rendered":"Arsenal player &#8216;offering himself to Barcelona daily&#8217; just before start of Premier League season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Arsenal could be braced for exits before the transfer window closes and it&#8217;s emerged that one of their stars has been offering himself to Barcelona every day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">After winning a first Premier League title since 2004, the Gunners have been active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis have been brought in for a combined total at \u00a3120 million, while Piero Hincapie&#8217;s loan move from Bayer Leverkusen has been made permanent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Arsenal have also wrapped up a \u00a350 million deal for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, adding another defensive option.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Departures will be necessary, with Gabriel Martinelli, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Martin Zubimendi some of the stars linked with moving on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">However, it&#8217;s emerged that striker Viktor Gyokeres has been offering himself to Barcelona on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The Swede only signed for Arsenal last summer, joining from Sporting CP in a \u00a355 million deal as the North London giants finally brought in a new striker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The former Coventry striker scored 21 goals in his debut campaign but did find himself playing second-fiddle to Kai Havertz for the latter stages of the season &#8211; particularly in big games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Havertz got the nod in the Community Shield win over Manchester City last weekend and appears to be first choice for Mikel Arteta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">With Gyokeres potentially the back-up striker, journalist Victor Navarro claims that he could potentially join Barcelona as he is very much open to the switch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The La Liga champions are desperate for a new No.9 after Robert Lewandowski left on a free transfer and Spain&#8217;s World Cup hero Ferran Torres signed for Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Julian Alvarez appeared to be their top target but Atletico Madrid are adamant he is not for sale and will not change their stance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">They also like his Argentina teammate and Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez and Sporting striker Luis Suarez, as well as Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">However, Gyokeres could be a more attainable option.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Taking to X, Navarro <a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/victor_nahe\/status\/2090113567680811087\">wrote:<\/a> &#8220;Lautaro Mart\u00ednez becomes, with the consensus of the entire club, the number one option for Barca.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u2018Yesterday the club once again received the information that Gil Mar\u00edn is vetoing Juli\u00e1n \u00c1lvarez.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">&#8220;Gyokeres is offering himself to Bar\u00e7a daily.
