Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste has confirmed that the club made an offer for Julian Alvarez, although he refused to provide any further details about the Argentine forward\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Speaking to TV3 after Barcelona\u2019s Joan Gamper Trophy appearance, Yuste was asked about the club\u2019s pursuit of the Atletico Madrid striker<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alvarez has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but Atletico remain firm in their position that the Argentine is not for sale.<\/p>\n

Reports have suggested that Alvarez wants to leave Atletico Madrid, while Barcelona continue to assess their options as they look to strengthen their attack.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Yuste was careful not to add further pressure to an already sensitive situation between two La Liga clubs.<\/p>\n

Instead, the Barcelona vice-president stressed the importance of maintaining respect between the clubs and their respective executives.<\/p>\n

Yuste confirms Barcelona made an offer for Julian Alvarez<\/p>\n

Yuste avoided discussing Alvarez in detail, insisting that Barcelona should be careful when speaking publicly about a player who remains under contract with Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n

The Barcelona executive also pointed to the strong relationship between the two clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t like to talk about players who aren\u2019t ours. We\u2019ve had a very good relationship with Miguel \u00c1ngel Gil and President Cerezo for years and years, and so these are things that I would say are part and parcel of football.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must maintain decorum and let common sense prevail,\u201d said Yuste, as per Mundo Deportivo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His comments did not clarify whether Barcelona\u2019s previous offer for Alvarez<\/a> remains active or whether the club is preparing another approach.<\/p>\n

However, Yuste then confirmed that Barcelona had indeed made a proposal for the Argentine forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe made an offer and that\u2019s that. We must focus entirely on what Hansi said recently: that we have a match on Sunday and we have to go out and win it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are 38 matches in La Liga and each one is worth three points, so we\u2019re fully focused on trying to secure our first win,\u201d added Yuste.<\/p>\n

Barcelona remain open to further signings\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yuste also discussed Barcelona\u2019s transfer plans<\/a> and made it clear that the club could still strengthen the squad before the window closes.<\/p>\n

Yuste praised the work being carried out by the club\u2019s sporting department, led by Deco, during the deal to sign Rodri, while also mentioning Bojan and Alejandro Echeverr\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a great technical team, with Deco, Bojan and Alejandro Echeverr\u00eda, who is also doing an exceptional job, and the transfer window is still open.\u00a0<\/p>\n
