Some will say that’s harsh, but it may also be down to a desire to leave on Jackson’s part.

Atletico step up Jackson interest
Nicolas Jackson (Photo by Sona Maleterova/Getty Images)

Now Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail is reporting that Atletico Madrid are one of the teams in the mix. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard them mentioned, but things had gone pretty quiet, and this is a good indication they’re about to heat up again.

Gull says that Atletico would prefer a loan (perhaps with an option to buy), but as ever, Chelsea want a straight sale. It shouldn’t be that hard to come to an arrangement, and we could see Jackson doing really well back in Spain.

There is “no offer yet” but talks are “ongoing.” The whole Jackson deal could be about to get very interesting, with Villa also seemingly gearing up for a bid.

Atletico Madrid are one of several sides chasing Nicolas Jackson. No offer yet from the La Liga club. Chelsea want £65m in a permanent sale for their striker, though understand Atletico prefer an initial loan.
