Real Madrid have unveiled 30-year-old Dutchman Dumfries as their new signing, 47 days after the club confirmed his transfer, with the player taking part in an institutional ceremony alongside president Florentino P\u00e9rez.\n<\/p>\n

According to Spanish newspaper “AS”, Dumfries arrived at the presentation with the club’s honorary president, Butrague\u00f1o, and members of his family. He watched a video of his best moments, received gifts from the club president and signed his contract.\n<\/p>\n

His signature ties the man from Rotterdam to Real Madrid until 2030.\n<\/p>\n

Dumfries said, via the club’s media:<\/a> “For anyone, playing for Real Madrid is a dream. Being here is a huge responsibility, of course, because we have important objectives. I am very proud and very happy. I am ready to get started.”\n<\/p>\n

The Dutchman joined Real Madrid’s training sessions on 28 July and made his first appearance in the team’s opening pre-season friendly against Fiorentina, a 2-2 draw.\n<\/p>\n

Dani Carvajal’s departure left a gap. Real Madrid have filled it with an experienced player who carries enough standing to take charge of the right flank.\n<\/p>\n

Competition comes from Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right-back position is now secure with two complete players available, and Mourinho tested the pair together on the pitch twice.\n<\/p>\n

During his time with Inter Milan, Dumfries played 207 matches, scoring 27 goals and providing 28 assists.\n<\/p>\n

His finest moment in Italy came in the Champions League semi-final of the 2024-2025 season against Barcelona. He scored twice and set up three more.\n<\/p>\n

Across five seasons in Inter Milan’s colours, Dumfries became one of the best players in the world in his position.\n<\/p>\n

Now he arrives at the Bernab\u00e9u tasked with filling the void left by a legend in Carvajal, and he will work under a coach who suits his style down to the ground.\n<\/p>\n

Following his official presentation, Dumfries is preparing to make his first appearance in a competitive match in a Real Madrid shirt next Saturday, when the team travel to Espanyol at the “RCDE” stadium.<\/p>\n
