The growing tension surrounding Julian\u00a0 Alvarez\u2019s future has now spilled into the public eye, with the\u00a0 Atletico Madrid star\u2019s agent responding directly to criticism from the club\u2019s chief executive, Miguel Angel Gil Marin.<\/p>\n

The latest twist in the Julian\u00a0 Alvarez transfer saga came after Gil Marin questioned the people advising the Argentine forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Within hours,\u00a0 Alvarez\u2019s agent Fernando Hidalgo posted a cryptic but pointed message on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Barcelona remain closely linked<\/a> with the 26-year-old, who has made it clear that he wants a new challenge and sees a move to the Catalan giants as his preferred destination.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With\u00a0 Atletico continuing to stand firm, however, the situation is now developing into an increasingly public confrontation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Alvarez\u2019s future turns into a public battle<\/p>\n

The pressure surrounding\u00a0 Alvarez\u2019s Atletico Madrid future has been building since the striker expressed his desire to leave during the 2026 World Cup, with Barcelona emerging as the player\u2019s dream destination<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Catalan club\u2019s interest has not remained purely speculative either, with Joan Laporta confirming that Barcelona made a formal offer<\/a> for the Argentine international.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Atletico, however, have refused to soften their position.<\/p>\n

Alvarez remains under contract until 2030, while the club has pointed towards his enormous \u20ac500 million release clause.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The situation has also become sensitive because Atletico believe outside pressure is playing a role in the growing transfer noise around their striker.<\/p>\n

Gil Marin addressed that issue<\/a> directly while discussing Alvarez\u2019s future, saying,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must understand that Juli\u00e1n has not had the best advisers around him regarding his professional career in recent months.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Atletico CEO also insisted that the club would continue to support their forward, explaining:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to help Julian and we\u2019re going to continue looking after him\u2026 because we need him to keep competing amongst Europe\u2019s elite\u201d<\/p>\n

Hs comments were followed by a warning aimed at those attempting to influence\u00a0 Atletico\u2019s sporting decisions:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot allow other clubs and their affiliated media to decide what we have to do, dictate our sporting strategy and show us disrespect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fernando Hidalgo sends clear response to\u00a0 Atletico<\/p>\n

Fernando Hidalgo did not mention Gil Marin by name, but his response on social media came just hours after the\u00a0 Atletico CEO\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n

The agent shared an image on Instagram containing the message,<\/p>\n

\u201cNever ask a liar why he lied. To explain it, he\u2019d have to lie again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post was signed with the initials \u2018FH\u2019, leaving little doubt over who had shared it.<\/p>\n

While Hidalgo avoided directly naming Gil Marin or Atletico Madrid, the timing immediately led to the message being interpreted as a response to the criticism aimed at Julian Alvarez\u2019s representatives.<\/p>\n

Barcelona dream makes situation even harder for\u00a0 Atletico<\/p>\n

It is clear that Atletico Madrid want to retain a player they see as central to their future, while Alvarez wants a change of scenery.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Barcelona, meanwhile, see the Argentine as a major opportunity and have already made their interest clear.<\/p>\n

When a disagreement between a club executive and a player\u2019s representative reaches social media, it becomes much harder to keep the situation behind closed doors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The agent\u2019s response suggests there may be deeper tensions than either side is willing to explain publicly.<\/p>\n

For now, Atletico still hold the strongest position, as Alvarez has a contract until 2030, and his \u20ac500 million release clause gives the club significant leverage.<\/p>\n
