Keeper Kayne van Oevelen has completed his season-long loan move to Valencia. <\/p>\n
The Dutchman arrived in Spain yesterday to undergo his medical and complete the formalities on the switch.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old joined Town for \u00a33.4 million from Volendam earlier in the summer, signing a five-year deal, but the Blues had always anticipated sending him out on loan to gain experience and it\u2019s understood a move to a Championship club had been agreed prior to Christian Walton picking up his foot injury.<\/p>\n
Van Oevelen impressed in his first season in the Eredivisie last season, which was only his second campaign as a first-team regularly, Volendam having been in the Eerste Divisie the previous year.<\/p>\n
Valencia were keen on recruiting Van Oevelen on a permanent basis prior to his move to Town last month but, despite having agreed personal terms, had been unable to settle on a fee with Volendam.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m doing well and my family are doing well,\u201d he told the La Liga club\u2019s website regarding the move. \u201cEveryone is very happy, including me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to getting onto the pitch to show what I can do and help the team. The city is truly fantastic. I\u2019ve really enjoyed these first few hours here.\u201d<\/p>\n

He says Valencia is somewhere he knows well: \u201cI\u2019ve been here many times on holiday. I always enjoy myself when I\u2019m in Valencia. At the club, from the moment I arrived, it felt like there was already a family here. I feel very welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n
Quizzed on his qualities as a keeper, he added: \u201cI\u2019m a goalkeeper who likes to come out. I like to play with my feet, but I can also play long balls.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m strong when dealing with crosses and in the air. I think I can help the team with my work rate, which is very high. Also, I think I\u2019m a good teammate in the dressing room.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on his career up to now, he continued: \u201cLast year was the best year of my career to date. The year before that I also had a very good season, with many positive moments.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last season had its ups and downs, so it was also good for gaining experience. All of that is part of my journey and I hope to continue becoming a better player.\u201d<\/p>\n
