A Commission spokesperson told Europa Press that Brussels had maintained close contact with Spanish authorities since the beginning of the crisis and would now assess Spain\u2019s needs before determining the amount of funding it could provide.<\/p>\n<p>EU funds to support Ceuta\u2019s reception system<\/p>\n<p>Madrid\u2019s request goes beyond border security. Spain also wants additional resources to strengthen reception facilities and ensure adequate accommodation and assistance for migrants who remain in Ceuta.<\/p>\n<p>The situation has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.moroccoworldnews.com\/2026\/08\/335552\/eu-to-boost-morocco-migration-funding-after-ceuta-crisis-but-rabat-is-no-gendarme\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">placed<\/a> particular pressure on facilities for unaccompanied minors, who require specialized accommodation and care.<\/p>\n<p>Brussels had already indicated that Spain could draw on the EU\u2019s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) to help cover reception and assistance costs.
