Now, according to journalist Alex Pintane<\/a>l<\/a>, Balde still believes he can convince Hansi Flick and has no intention of leaving simply because his role has become less secure.<\/p>\n Balde wants to change Flick\u2019s mind<\/p>\n The key point is that Balde has not given up on his Barcelona future.<\/p>\n Despite recent uncertainty around his status and his omission from the squad against Elche, the left-back believes he can still earn Flick\u2019s trust through training and performances.<\/p>\n That makes his current position quite clear.<\/p>\n Balde will consider leaving if a genuinely tempting opportunity appears, but he is not actively pushing for an exit.<\/p>\n The 22-year-old has age on his side and the required potential to believe that he can change the manager\u2019s opinion of him.<\/p>\n Bar\u00e7a remain open to offers<\/p>\n Bar\u00e7a\u2019s stance appears slightly more flexible.<\/p>\n The club are willing to study proposals for Balde as they continue adjusting the defence and considering possible late business.<\/p>\n However, the Catalans have no intention of making a distress sale with the Spaniard and will only consider offers that meet their valuation of the player.<\/p>\n With around just a week to go in the transfer window, such an offer may be very difficult if Bar\u00e7a centre their transfer plans around him.<\/p>\n Competition has changed Balde\u2019s status<\/p>\n Flick now has several alternatives available in defence.<\/p>\n Joao Cancelo can operate on the left, Gerard Martin is another option, and the coach has shown a willingness to reshape the back line depending on the opponent.<\/p>\n The emergence of La Masia starlet Jordi Pesquer during pre-season has also played a major part in the uncertainty surrounding Balde.<\/p>\n Against Elche, Flick also experimented with Xavi Espart at left-back, and the Spanish teenager passed the test with flying colours.<\/p>\n All this makes Balde a less certain pick than in previous seasons, but at 22, his pace, athleticism and ability to attack space remain valuable qualities.<\/p>\n If no offer convinces him, Balde is likely to stay at Bar\u00e7a and accept the challenge.<\/p>\n That would leave him needing to win back his place the hard way rather than relying on past status.<\/p>\n For Bar\u00e7a, that might not be a bad outcome.
