Aug. 28 (UPI) — High-profile meetings between Paris Saint-German and Barcelona and Real Madrid and Arsenal were among those revealed through the league phase draw for the 2026-27 Champions League.<\/p>\n

The Parisians are favored to win the tournament for a third consecutive time. The finale will be June 5 at Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.\n<\/p>\n

Barcelona and Spanish La Liga rival Real Madrid, German Bundesliga power Bayern Munich, Arsenal and fellow English Premier League club Manchester City are among other expected contenders in the annual UEFA tournament, which features the top teams in Europe.<\/p>\n

League phase matches, drawn Thursday in Monaco, will be held over five months, from Sept. 8 through Jan. 27.<\/p>\n

The 2026-27 Champions League knockout phase will start Feb. 16, with the Round of 16 held March 9-10 and 16-17. The quarterfinals will be April 6-7 and 13-14. Semifinals will take place April 27-28 and May 4-5.<\/p>\n

The Parisians’ league phase schedule includes home matchups with Barcelona, Italian Serie A’s Roma, Turkish Super Lig’s Galatasaray and Slovak Super Liga squad Slovan Bratislava. They drew road matches with Manchester City, fellow Premier League club Aston Villa and La Liga’s Villarreal and Serie A’s Como.<\/p>\n

Barcelona’s road matches will be against Portugal’s Sporting CP, Galatasaray and Azerbaijan club Sabah, in addition to the PSG meeting. Barcelona will host Manchester City, Aston Villa, Dutch club Feyenoord and Como.<\/p>\n

Arsenal drew home meetings with Germany’s Borussia Dortmund, France’s Lille and Sabah, in addition to Real Madrid. The Gunners, who lost to PSG in the 2025-26 finale, will travel for meetings with Bayern, Spain’s Real Betis, Italy’s Napoli and Czechia’s Slavia Praha.<\/p>\n

Madrid drew home meetings with Milan, Dutch club PSV, Germany’s RB Leipzig and Austria’s Lask. Madrid will travel for road games with Italy’s Roma, Ukraine’s Shakhtar and Greece’s AEK Athens, in addition to the meeting with the Gunners.<\/p>\n

Bayern, who lost just once in the league phase and advanced to a semifinal in 2025-26, will host Real Betis, Dutch club Bodo\/Glimt and Slavia Praha, in addition to the Gunners. The nearly perennial Bundesliga champions drew road matches with Spain’s Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Lille and Dutch club Viking.<\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid, who lost to the Gunners in the 2025-26 semifinals, will host Manchester United, Turkish club Fenerbahce and Viking, in addition to Bayern.<\/p>\n

A full list of matchups for all 36 teams in the league phase can be found here<\/a>. Specific dates and times for the games will be announced Saturday.\n<\/p>\n
