As we head into the final 48 hours of the summer transfer window, it looks like one serious landing spot has now emerged.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Sunday, Atlético Madrid have officially submitted an offer to sign David on an initial loan deal that would include an option to buy next summer. David, one of Juventus’ highest earners and somebody who has previously made it seem like he wants to stay in Turin regardless of any outside interest, has reportedly opened up to a move to Atlético Madrid. Atléti are in the market for new attacking options in the case that Julian Alvarez does get a move away from the club — namely to Barcelona — over the next couple of days.

What the financial figures of the deal might be have not been reported on just yet.

One potential sticking point, according to Romano, appears to “Juve need replacement secured ahead of any green light.”

David, who signed as a free agent under Juve’s Damien Comolli-led front office last summer, has also seen interest from the Premier League pop up during the last few weeks. However, between his salary and some reported reluctance to leave Juventus, a deal for a player who may or may not be in the plans of manager Luciano Spalletti didn’t look all that likely.

But now with Atlético Madrid definitively in the picture, that could very well be changing.

Who knows how much somebody like Alexander Sørloth may factor into this and if it effectively becomes an unofficial swap between strikers who aren’t totally in the plans of their current. It’s clear at this point that it just isn’t working for David at Juventus these days and that a new club for the 2026-27 season (and potentially beyond) is going to be the best thing for him to try and get things back on track.

We know for months that Juventus have been trying to find a landing spot for Canadian forward Jonathan…

[4
29384,82,29385
post-78049","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-madrid","tag-juventus-transfer-news-rumors","tag-madrid","tag-serie-a-campionato-2026-27
["GET
