Led by Panathinaikos Athens forward Konstantinos Mitoglou and Olympiacos Piraeus guard Tyler Dorsey, Greece defeated Spain 108-106 to claim their fourth win.<\/p>\n
It all went down to the wire in the fourth quarter as Greece had a chance to close out the game, but on Spain’s final possession, Juancho Hernangomez hit a three-pointer to tie the game 86-86 and send it to overtime.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n In overtime, Greece was in control from the start, but Spain kept the game close until the final seconds.<\/p>\n Spain’s Joel Parra had an excellent opportunity to tie the game after a steal at midcourt with 17 seconds remaining in overtime.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He made one of two free throws, after which Greece extended its lead to 108-106 with a free throw from Vassilis Toliopoulos.<\/p>\n Spain’s last possession was unsuccessful, and Greece secured a crucial win to keep its World Cup aspirations alive while closing in on the top three in Group I.<\/p>\n For Greece, the duo of Mitoglou and Dorsey combined for 58 points, scoring 29 points each.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For Spain, Barcelona’s Joel Parra finished as the top scorer with 18 points and 5 rebounds.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a1Gracias por leernos!
