{"id":79120,"date":"2026-09-01T19:06:42","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T19:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/79120\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T19:06:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T19:06:42","slug":"barcelona-completes-transfer-deadline-day-deal-for-gabriel-jesus-from-arsenal-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/79120\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona completes transfer deadline day deal for Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">BARCELONA (AP) \u2014 Gabriel Jesus completed a transfer deadline day move from Arsenal to Barcelona on Tuesday on a three-year contract.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">The 29-year-old Brazil striker was part of Arsenal&#8217;s Premier League title-winning squad last season after lifting four league crowns with Manchester City.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">He joins Spanish champion Barcelona following the departure of Robert Lewandowski at the end of last season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Jesus joined Arsenal in 2022 after six trophy-laden seasons at City. (AP Photo\/Joan Monfort)<\/p>\n<p>      <\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Madison Keys and Flavio Cobolli were in action early Tuesday at the U.S. Open, where rain threatened to hamper the schedule for a couple days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Showers that began Monday night and would possibly be on and off through the middle of the week delayed play on all the outer courts, allowing for action only in Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium, which have retractable roofs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Keys, the No. 22 seed, was facing Alina Korneeva in the leadoff match in Ashe. Cobolli, the men&#8217;s No. 5 seed, quickly dropped the first set against Francisco Comesana on Armstrong.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Among those who were supposed to be playing already but had to wait were No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina, No. 12 Belinda Bencic and No. 32 Maria Sakkari.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Rybakina has multiple routes to the No. 1 ranking at the U.S. Open.
