{"id":79145,"date":"2026-09-01T19:51:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T19:51:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/79145\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T19:51:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T19:51:11","slug":"barcelona-defender-unlikely-to-join-manchester-united-despite-talks-of-a-late-attempt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/79145\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona defender unlikely to join Manchester United despite talks of a late attempt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The summer transfer window has entered its final few hours and FC Barcelona seem to have completed most of their activity on deadline day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the signing of Gabriel Jesus, sporting director Deco confirmed that there will be no more arrivals, closing the door on a potential move for Ruud Nijstad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, as far as exits are concerned, Guille Fernandez has signed for Mallorca and Marc Casado is on his way to Deportivo de A Coruna on loan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There has been some chatter surrounding the future of Alejandro Balde as well, with Manchester United being linked with the Barcelona left-back again.<\/p>\n<p>Move unlikely<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kpSpwOYw4N8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, barring any last-minute surprises, Balde is unlikely to leave Barcelona for Manchester United this transfer deadline day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/fc-barcelona-v-athletic-club-laliga-ea-sports-2026-27-10-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alejandro Balde of FC Barcelona\" class=\"wp-image-210873\"  \/>Not going anywhere. (Photo by Alex Caparros\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Red Devils have held an interest in the 22-year-old left-back for some time now and have held talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, over a potential move.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, they <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/manchester-united-consider-barcelona-star-alejandro-balde-deal-too-expensive-romano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">pulled out of the deal due to the economic demands<\/a> of Barcelona and the player, citing the operation as too costly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nonetheless, reports in Spain suggested today that the Premier League heavyweights were <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/manchester-united-consider-final-push-for-barcelona-homegrown-defender-on-deadline-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ready to make a final push on deadline day<\/a> to try and sign Balde, given their problems in the left-back position.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But unless something drastic happens, there will be no such move for the La Masia graduate, and he will continue at Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Balde never wanted to leave<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Balde, for his part, has never entertained the possibility of leaving Barcelona and has throughout maintained that he wished to stay and succeed at the club.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"697\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/elche-cf-v-fc-barcelona-laliga-ea-sports-2026-27-2-3-1024x697.jpg\" alt=\"Xavi Espart of Barcelona\" class=\"wp-image-211192\"  \/>Xavi Espart is ahead of Balde.
