All our local football teams had action last week, which was good for half of them and not so good for the others. One of the more notable turnarounds this week is the Castaic Coyotes. After going 0-10 last season, the Coyotes already have two wins under their belt. <\/p>\n

Our seven Foothill League football teams continued in non-league action last week with four winners, one of which was 2-0 Castaic. But Castaic, and 2-0 Hart, have stiff opponents this week.<\/p>\n

Valencia (1-1, 0-0)<\/p>\n
On Aug. 28 the Valencia Vikings got smacked down 35-10 by what is turning out to be a very tough, and now 3-0, Chaminade.<\/p>\n
Nothing to be done but dust off and get ready fast to visit 2-0 Bishop Amat on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

This game should be a good litmus test, as the Tritons have scored 104 points in two games.<\/p>\n The game will be played at College of the Canyons\u2019 Cougar Stadium on the west campus at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91355. The stadium is on the northwest edge of the campus, near Valencia Boulevard. After going 0-10 last season, the Castaic Coyotes are 2-0 so far in 2026. Castaic put down 0-2 and struggling Littlerock convincingly, 48-0 on Aug. 28. But things will get a whole lot tougher when Castaic hosts 2-0 Cleveland on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers have not been scored on in two games and have amassed 96 points.<\/p>\n That game will be played at Valencia High School, 27801 N.
