However, there is another option under LaLiga’s regulations.

According to SPORT, Barça can request to transfer the unused FFP allowance into their 2027/28 Wage Bill Limit, provided the request is made before the winter window opens.

As such, only 75% would count, meaning the full €60 million could translate into roughly €45 million of additional wage capacity.

Camp Nou return makes the decision more complicated

The financial argument for saving the money is tied directly to the stadium situation.

Barcelona are expected to spend around four months of the 2027/28 season at Montjuïc while work continues on the Camp Nou roof.

Reduced capacity would mean lower matchday income, putting pressure on the following season’s spending limit.

Data cited from the outlet explains the scale of the difference.

Barcelona will play the 2027/28 season away from Camp Nou. (Photo by David Ramos/Getty Images)

Revenue was €175 million during the 2024/25 season played entirely at Montjuïc, compared with an expected €290-300 million this season at Camp Nou.

At full capacity, the stadium could eventually generate around €400 million.

If Barcelona return in November 2027, revenue could reach roughly €250 million that season, around €40 million below the current figure.

Barcelona need to prioritise

This is where the €60 million becomes particularly valuable.

Carrying it forward could soften the financial impact of the temporary Montjuïc return and help Barça remain within LaLiga’s 1:1 rule.

This is because if the club transfers the full amount into the future wage bill, there would effectively be no room for major summer additions until player departures create fresh space.

That makes January the key decision point. Barcelona can strengthen Flick’s squad now, or use their financial cushion as protection against a more difficult 2027/28.

Barcelona have emerged from the summer transfer window with something they have not always had in recent years:…

[5
92,222,223
post-81209","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-barcelona","tag-barcelona","tag-barcelona-news","tag-fc-barcelona
["GET
