\n H&M<\/a> has chosen Barcelona to bolster its global corporate structure. The Swedish fashion giant announced on Monday that it is establishing a new production office in the Catalan capital. Located in the Casa de les Punxes, a building designed by the modernist architect Josep Puig<\/a> i Cadafalch and situated at 420 Avinguda Diagonal, it will focus on product development, \u201ccreating a collaborative working environment for H&M\u2019s production and buying teams, as well as for selected supplier partners,\u201d the company emphasised in a statement.<\/p>\n

From this new hub, the company aims to accelerate trend identification and product ideation, as well as market research. \u201cOpening this office in Barcelona marks an important milestone for us. Many of our key suppliers have their design studios here, and this collaboration is essential to continue elevating the H&M brand\u201d, said Karin Lind, managing director, production, at the Swedish retailer.<\/p>\n

H&M also states that this space will bring a new dimension to H&M\u2019s global production network, creating a dedicated environment \u201cwhere ideas, expertise, and capabilities converge, strengthening collaboration throughout the entire product development process.\u201d Furthermore, the company highlights Barcelona\u2019s creative ecosystem and its \u201cwell-established product development capabilities\u201d as key attributes that make it a \u201cnatural location\u201d for this new office.<\/p>\n

H&M is thereby expanding its presence in Barcelona, as the Catalan capital is home to its Spanish headquarters, complemented by a showroom in Madrid. In the Spanish market, the group posted sales of \u20ac469.2 million for the 2025 financial year, down 2.2% on the previous year<\/a>, according to the subsidiary\u2019s filing with the Commercial Register. Globally, and according to the latest figures published by the company, in its second quarter (March to May) it recorded net sales of 54,828 million Swedish kronor<\/a> (approximately \u20ac4,940 million), representing a decline compared with the 56,714 million Swedish kronor (approximately \u20ac5,100 million) recorded in the second quarter of last year.\u00a0\n <\/p>\n
