{"id":82041,"date":"2026-09-07T13:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T13:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/82041\/"},"modified":"2026-09-07T13:30:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T13:30:09","slug":"spain-la-septima-readies-for-november-dtt-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/82041\/","title":{"rendered":"Spain: La S\u00e9ptima readies for November DTT launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        Spain: La S\u00e9ptima readies for November DTT launch | Advanced Television<\/p>\n<p>            &#13;<\/p>\n<p>                            Spain: La S\u00e9ptima readies for November DTT launch<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-0\">September 7, 2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-0\">From David Del Valle in Madrid<\/p>\n<p>                                    <img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/FesTVal-1024x576.png\" class=\"mb-3 rounded-3 w-100 wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>                                <\/p>\n<p data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Spanish FTA TV channel, La S\u00e9ptima, has unveiled its programming strategy and presenting team ahead of its nationwide DTT launch throughout Spain on November 5th.<\/p>\n<p>The new general entertainment channel, backed by veteran Spanish TV executive Jos\u00e9 Miguel Contreras, presented its project at the FesTVal television festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz, describing itself as the first broadcaster of a \u201cnew era of generalist television\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La S\u00e9ptima aims to differentiate itself through a focus on live programming, news, current affairs and entertainment, adapting the traditional FTA model to changing viewing habits and the growing importance of digital platforms and social media.<\/p>\n<p>Javier Ruiz, who has left public broadcaster RTVE to become editorial director of La S\u00e9ptima, said live television will be central to the channel\u2019s strategy, stating that the speed of current affairs requires broadcasters to react to events as they happen while providing viewers with context and analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Contreras said La S\u00e9ptima is not aiming to challenge Spain\u2019s established broadcasters for market leadership, but rather to occupy what he sees as an underserved space in the country\u2019s television market.<\/p>\n<p>The launch will add another nationwide general entertainment service to Spain\u2019s DTT landscape at a time when traditional broadcasters are increasingly competing with streaming platforms and changing patterns of audiovisual consumption.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-0\">Copyright \u00a9 2001-2026.
