King Felipe VI inaugurated Faro Santander this Monday, the new cultural center of the Banco Santander Foundation located in the historic Edificio Pereda of the Cantabrian capital.<\/p>\n
The building, former headquarters of the bank facing the bay, has been transformed by the studio of David Chipperfield, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2023. The public will be able to enter for the first time this Tuesday, September 8.<\/p>\n
What can be seen <\/p>\n
Faro Santander brings together works from the Banco Santander Collection and the Gelman Santander Collection.<\/p>\n
Among the exhibited works are names like El Greco, Titian, Rubens, Vel\u00e1zquez, Goya, T\u00e0pies, Frida Kahlo, and Diego Rivera. The center has nine exhibition rooms and spaces dedicated to workshops, education, and cultural activities.<\/p>\n
The inaugural program includes “Masterpieces from the Banco Santander Collection,” “Modern Mexico in the Gelman Santander Collection,” and an exhibition dedicated to Leonora Carrington.<\/p>\n
Ten days of free entry <\/p>\n
From September 8 to 17, Faro Santander will offer free access as part of its inaugural program.<\/p>\n
After that, general admission will cost 14 euros and reduced admission, seven.
