Refugee Agency data. Germany remained the bloc&#8217;s biggest host of foreign-born people at nearly 18 \u2060million, 72% of them of working age, \u200bwhile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.majorcadailybulletin.com\/tag\/Spain.html?utm_source=Inline-tag&amp;utm_medium=internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spain<\/a> \u200bposted \u200cthe fastest recent growth, adding about 700,000 to bring its foreign-born <a href=\"https:\/\/www.majorcadailybulletin.com\/tag\/Population.html?utm_source=Inline-tag&amp;utm_medium=internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">population<\/a> \u200cto 9.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Germany remains the main destination for migrants in Europe, both in absolute terms and, to a significant \u2060extent, relative to its \u200cpopulation,&#8221; said Tommaso Frattini, one of the authors of the report.<br \/>The study said migration \u200bpatterns were uneven \u200cacross \u200cthe bloc, with Luxembourg, Malta and Cyprus facing higher shares of immigrants relative to their population size.<\/p>\n<p>Asylum claims were also concentrated \u2060in \u200bcertain countries, with Spain, Italy, France and Germany \u200baccounting for nearly three-quarters of all applications.
