NEW YORK (PIX11) — Wimbledon’s iconic grass court will be nestled in Manhattan’s most prominent greenspace.
For the first time, the famed tennis tournament will erect a pop-up grass court at the Wollman Rink in Central Park later this month, according to a Wimbledon spokesperson.

The event will host a series of special activities from June 26 to June 29.
The four-day event will feature tennis icons playing an exhibition doubles match, a taste of some strawberries and cream, free tennis clinics, and some lucky fans will get the chance to play on the pop-up court via a ballot.
The ballot for the doubles match and playing sessions closes at 11:59 p.m. on June 10.
Wimbledon kicks off on June 29, and fans will be able to watch the tournament on big screens in Central Park.
The Hill in New York has allowed tennis lovers to watch the tournament on big screens in Brooklyn Bridge Park since 2022.
“We are delighted to bring Wimbledon to the US for a fifth successive year, giving New York’s devoted tennis fans a flavor of Wimbledon,” said Usama Al-Qassab, marketing and commercial director at The All England Lawn Tennis Club.
