David Armstrong-Jones, Earl of Snowden and Princess Margaret’s son, was in the front row of the Royal Box at Wimbledon on Friday for the men’s semifinals. His appearance came just days after his sister, Lady Sarah Chatto, attended the quarterfinals on Tuesday alongside her husband, Daniel Chatto. Also in the Royal Box on Friday was Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, who has attended the Grand Slam several times over the last two weeks, and Prince Michael of Kent.

The two children of Princess Margaret are among the more familiar faces of the extended British royal family at major sporting and social events, though neither holds the status of a working royal. At birth, David had the title Viscount Linley and became the 2nd Earl of Snowdon following his father Anthony Armstrong-Jones’s death in January 2017. He has built a career as a furniture craftsman, with a client list that includes Elton John and Valentino. David has also served as honorary chairman of Christie’s auction house.
Known professionally as David Linley, he was most recently seen at Royal Ascot last month, where he joined his first cousin, King Charles, and Queen Camilla in their carriage for the royal procession. He was accompanied on that occasion by his partner, Isabelle de la Bruyère. She was also by his side earlier in June when he attended the Cotswolds wedding of Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips, together with his sister Lady Sarah and his daughter, Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones.
On Centre Court at the All England Club on Friday, the two men’s semifinals offer two heavily anticipated matchups. No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev faced British qualifier and the darling of the tournament thus far, Arthur Fery, in the first match. The second semifinal will bring together defending champion Jannik Sinner and seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, who has been chasing a record 25th Grand Slam title.
