Last year, Jannik Sinner made history as the first Italian player to win Wimbledon, and now, he’s done it again, defending his title in a four-set battle against world no. 2 Alexander Zverev. Today marks his fifth Grand Slam title, and 100th career Grand Slam match win. After winning, he celebrated with his player’s box, including coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi, his parents Johann and Siglinde, his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic, and his older brother, Mark Sinner.

At the trophy presentation, Kate Middleton, the royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, presesented Sinner with the trophy. The Princess of Wales was among the starry crowd at Centre Court today for the finals, including Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Raye, Cynthia Erivo, Ben Stiller, and many, many more.

Last year, Sinner spoke about meeting the royal family following his win. “In the beginning, I didn’t know what to say,” Sinner admitted. “It’s difficult to understand, you know, how you can talk. I always try to talk very natural.” But, he added, “It was amazing. I believe for us tennis players, it’s so nice to have them watching us because it makes it even more special. You see how much they care about tennis and the sport itself. It’s very prestigious. I’ve been lucky to meet her and the whole family, and it was a very nice moment.” It’s likely the Wales family will again greet Sinner after the trophy presentation today.
