BBC viewers said the same thing about Princess Kate’s appearance at Wimbledon.

The Princess of Wales attended Wimbledon on Sunday, though her outfit choice divided opinion amongst observers. Princess Catherine accompanied her husband, Prince William, and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to the men’s singles final at the tennis championship.

She wore a striking olive-green dress by Emilia Wickstead. Her accessories were understated, comprising brown heels and a matching handbag.

The future Queen opted for radiant makeup, while her hair fell in her characteristic soft waves. Nevertheless, some observers questioned the colour and material of her dress, suggesting it was unsuitable for the weekend’s scorching temperatures.

This isn’t the first time the Princess of Wales has left viewers distracted by her appearance, as just last month, Kate wowed the crowds at Trooping the Colour.

“It’s kind of a dark colour for a summer dress,” one fan wrote on social media when referring to Kate’s outfit choice.

Another commented: “Not a fan of this color for a summery event like Wimbledon but the style is nice,” reports the Express. A third said, “The colour is not exactly a favourite of mine, but I guess it is tennis related.”

A fourth questioned: “I’m confused, another wool dress at Wimbledon… is the UK experiencing a heat wave right now?? Why wool.”

However, many praised the princess’s fashion selection, with one admirer stating: “She is smashing it lately.” Another enthused: “What a fashion moment, she looks fabulous.”

A third commented: “Beautiful, modern but sophisticated (obviously), that’s how it should be. Gorgeous.”

On Sunday, Catherine presented the Wimbledon men’s trophy to Jannik Sinner for the second consecutive year, following the successful defense of his title at what he described as the “most special tournament” of the year.

Speaking to Sinner following the match, Catherine remarked that it was “really inspiring” for both George and Charlotte to witness tennis played at his calibre.

The Princess congratulated the Italian athlete on his win, adding: “You’ve had such a fantastic tournament, so really, really well done.”
