Only one all-seeded showdown headlines the Kitzbuhel quarterfinal lineup, pitting Tomas Martin Etcheverry against Ignacio Buse. Top seed Alexander Bublik continues his title bid on Thursday against Alex Molcan.

Etcheverry and Buse will be going head-to-head for the first time in their careers when they battle for a semifinal spot at the Generali Open on Thursday. Buse was forced to put in a big effort just to reach the last eight, as he held off Vit Kopriva 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-1 and then scraped past Kilian Feldbausch 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Thus continues a breakthrough 2026 campaign for the 22-year-old Peruvian, whose climb to No. 35 in the world features an ATP 500 title in Hamburg.
Etcheverry followed up an opening-round bye as the No. 4 seed with a 6-2, 7-6(4) victory over Jurij Rodionov on Wednesday. The 31st-ranked Argentine has now earned 22 main-tour match victories this season, 17 of which have come on clay — including five en route to his first ATP title at the 500-point tournament in Rio de Janeiro. Etcheverry is more rested and appears to be in slightly superior form this week, so look for him to have the upper hand.

(1) Alexander Bublik vs. Alex Molcan
When Bublik is motivated, good things generally happen on the tennis court (and the opposite is very much true when he doesn’t care!). As the defending champion in Kitzbuhel and having lost his opening match last week as the defending champ in Gstaad, the 11th-ranked Kazakh should be eager to make a deep run. On the heels of a first-round bye, Bublik took care of Facundo Diaz Acosta 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday.
Up next for the top seed is Molcan, who won their only previous meeting 6-4, 6-2 on the red clay of Munich this spring. That’s another reason why Bublik will probably put his best foot forward on Thursday, as he will be hoping to exact revenge for that mid-April result. Molcan is playing well, but he has played six matches in the last week and a half (reached the Umag semifinals last week) and is coming off a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 thriller against Daniel Altmaier on Wednesday. This sets up well for Bublik.
