Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter are officially husband and wife. The tennis power couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on July 12, shortly after their Wimbledon campaigns came to an end.
According to The Daily Mail, the intimate wedding took place at a church near Boulter’s family home in Old Woodhouse, Leicestershire.
The couple deliberately kept the celebrations low-key so Boulter’s grandfather, Brian, with whom she shared a close bond, could be part of their special day.
Ahead of the wedding, the British star had hoped he would walk her down the aisle. Living with dementia and receiving care, there had been concerns about whether he would be well enough to attend.
Although Brian was unable to escort her down the aisle, he was able to attend the ceremony. Boulter wore a gown by British designer Vivienne Westwood, while her mother accompanied her to the altar before her grandfather formally gave her away to de Minaur.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with close family at a local pub.

The couple had a second ceremony in Tuscany, where they organized a multi-day celebration for extended family, friends and colleagues from the tennis world at the luxurious Borgo Santo Pietro estate. The event was exclusively covered by Vogue magazine.
A special detail of this ceremony was Boulter’s wedding dress. She wore a custom lace dress, designed by Caroline Castigliano. To make it even more personal, she hand-stitched a piece of fabric from her late grandmother’s wedding dress into the gown. De Minaur complemented her in a classic Ralph Lauren tuxedo.
A self-confessed classic car enthusiast, De Minaur bought a vintage 1956 Porsche Speedster specifically for the occasion, to drive his new wife, Boulter, away after the ceremony.
Will Boulter Change Her Surname?
Boulter also revealed that she plans to continue competing under her maiden name on the WTA Tour. However, she updated her social media profiles to “KDM,” which stands for Katie De Minaur.
How did Boulter and de Minaur meet?
Their first unofficial meeting happened by chance in 2020 at Adelaide Airport while they were traveling on a tennis tour.
Shortly after the airport encounter, they realized they were staying at the same hotel in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open.
They ran into each other early in the morning at the hotel lobby and decided to grab a coffee together, which sparked their romance. De Minaur later revealed that Boulter initially turned down his first invitation before responding with a “maybe” when he asked again.

The couple made their relationship Instagram official in March 2021 and announced their engagement in December 2024. Boulter posted a selfie showing off her engagement ring, which quickly went viral among tennis fans.
Since then, De Minaur and Boulter have become one of tennis’ most beloved couples, regularly cheering each other on from the stands at ATP and WTA events around the world.
They have also shared glimpses of their life together on social media, with their unwavering support for one another becoming a defining feature of their relationship.
Now that the celebrations are over, the focus shifts back to tennis. Boulter takes on Ashlyn Krueger in the first round of the Washington Open. This will be a fourth meeting between Boulter and Krueger, with the latter leading their head-to-head 2-1. De Minaur will begin his Mubadala DC Open campaign on Tuesday, July 28.
