Tennis fans are in disbelief after world number three Carlos Alcaraz debuted a bold new hairstyle in a social media post.
Alcaraz is currently stepping up his recovery from a right wrist injury he suffered at the Barcelona Open in April.
The injury has forced him to miss both the French Open and Wimbledon, while he is expected to return for the US Open.
Alcaraz recently excited fans in a video of him playing indoors, but the reaction to his new hairstyle has not gone down well.

How tennis fans reacted to Carlos Alcaraz’s fresh look
Carlos Alcaraz posted a series of images and videos on his Instagram account on Thursday afternoon.
His post featured celebrations from his trip to New York to watch Spain in the World Cup final, as well as pictures of his new hairstyle.
Tennis fans have since taken to X to discuss Alcaraz’s fresh look; most comments were negative, to say the least.
One viewer wrote: “Find his hairdresser as soon as possible. It’s a disaster!” Another added: “No, this isn’t possible, do something.”
“I hate it” and “disgusting” were two further comments that summed up the general feeling on Alcaraz’s hair.
“He thinks he’s Bad Bunny, I can’t take it anymore,” a fan humorously compared the tennis star to the Puerto Rican singer.
Alcaraz’s fans will hope that this is a temporary experiment and that he will soon return to a more traditional look.
