Cincinnati Open tennis tournament to return this weekend with new fan zones
MASON, Ohio —
The Cincinnati Open, a tennis tradition dating back to 1899, is set to return this weekend, featuring the world’s top tennis professionals and enhanced experiences for fans.
The tournament has invested $260 million in upgrades, including expanded fan zones, multiple entertainment stages, and a new indoor fan zone. The indoor space, which is still under construction, will offer TV screens, a bar and a tennis court, providing fans with a place to escape the heat.
“Adding a lot more for the fans to do, but that fan experience in the Kroger fan zone is absolutely spectacular,” Cincinnati Open Director Bob Moran said.
This year’s tournament also marks a special moment for Mason graduate Vignesh Gogineni, who will make his professional debut at the event. Gogineni, who once sat in the stands as a spectator, will now play in front of a home crowd, including friends and family.
“I’m new to all of this, so I need to just not let that get in my head too much,” Gogineni said.
The Cincinnati Open continues its legacy as a proving ground for players and an event defined by tradition and endurance over its 127-year history.
