Playing styles and prediction

Buse has had a breakthrough season playing some efficient and consistent tennis on all surfaces. The Peruvian claimed his first ATP title in Hamburg the week before Roland Garros and will be aiming to do the same this week in Winston-Salem. A consistent baseline game mixed with big serving makes Buse a threat and he will aim to boost his US Open hopes with a title in Winston-Salem.

Fery will need to serve well and will be looking for the angles to force errors from Buse’s game. The backhand will be key for Buse as he looks to dominate the baseline exchanges. If Fery can play the match on his terms and be proactive then the Brit has every chance of claiming a first ATP title of his career.

Prediction: Fery in three sets.
