After a significant dip in form, Van Assche has sprung into life in the second half of the season having won Estoril and enters the US Open having won a Challenger in Canada. The Frenchman has an explosive serve and a consistent baseline game as he has really developed his confidence over the last few weeks. Now, Van Assche will look to deliver that form at Grand Slam level and cause a big shock in New York.

Norrie will aim to be aggressive on serve while using the backhand to accelerate the tempo of the rallies. Meanwhile Van Assche will use the forehand to suffocate Norrie from the baseline and using the angles to open up the court. This will be an entertaining battle with lots of ups and downs but Norrie should be able to extend his winning streak over the Frenchman.
