An MP has been given tickets to a major sporting event, it has been revealed.
Swindon South MP Heidi Alexander watched the thrilling Wimbledon final as Jannik Sinner fought off a full-blooded challenge from Alexander Zverev to successfully defend his title thanks to the All England Lawn Tennis Club,
The hospitality included two tickets worth £1,480 to the men’s singles final on July 12, – which was also attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince George and Princess Charlotte in the front row of the Royal Box – as declared in Parliament’s latest Register of Members’ Financial Interests.

Ms Alexander registered the tickets under the category for gifts, benefits, and hospitality from UK sources.
The register entry stated: “Two tickets including hospitality, for myself and a member of my staff, to attend the Men’s Singles Final at Wimbledon.”
The tickets were provided by the All England Lawn Tennis Club, which organises the annual Wimbledon Championships.
A spokesperson for Ms Alexander, who also serves as the Transport Secretary, said: “Heidi very rarely accepts any hospitality. After Labour entered office, the Ministerial Code was strengthened to include new transparency requirements and clear principles governing the acceptance of gifts and hospitality.
“This declaration was made in line with Ministerial and Parliamentary rules.”
Last year, Ms Alexander also recorded a dinner in Cheltenham worth £412, provided by Panattoni UK Developments Limited, attended with another MP and a councillor last year, but has not recorded anything else new on the register.
The company is currently building a massive warehouse in Swindon, estimated to be one of the largest of its kind.
In total, there will be 7.2 million square feet of space at Panattoni Park for businesses to use, and it is expected to create 7,000 new jobs in Swindon and a further 11,000 jobs across the wider local supply chain.
Panattoni in Swindon was the former home of Honda’s UK manufacturing plant, before its factory closed on the site in 2021.
Ms Alexander’s fellow Swindon MP Will Stone did not have any new entries in the most recent register from this year, and does not appeared to have any hospitality declared since becoming the Swindon North MP in 2024.
