Falmouth‘s first Padel tennis court is set to open this Sunday (September 13).
Padel Tide Ltd have been working since February to get the courts ready for their late summer opening at Falmouth Cricket Club.
The two “state-of-the-art” courts feature toughened glass walls, LED lighting and roof cover for year-round play.
Padel – the fast-paced hybrid of tennis and squash – is the world’s fastest-growing sport, with over a million players in the UK as of May this year.
Played in doubles on a small enclosed court, it has surged in popularity thanks to its accessibility and social nature.
Padel Tide founders Chris Snow and James Trevena, both lifelong sports enthusiasts, previously said: “After discovering how fun, fast, and inclusive padel is, we knew it deserved a home right here in Falmouth.

“This is about more than courts — it’s about creating a community hub for health, wellbeing, and connection.”
Falmouth players can now use the Playtomic app to book courts, join ‘open court’ sessions and even try the “Americanos” tournament, where players switch partners each round.
Padel Tide will also offer small group coaching on Mondays and Thursdays, and are encouraging players to join their WhatsApp community to find partners and games.
